NXT July 13th 2016

NXT

Apart from showing a few matches that would be happening next week on NXT and a promo there was only one match, but it was a great match. So let's start with the promo.

Samoa Joe Returns

Samoa Joe returned to a surprisingly loud ovation and said how he was here for the same reason most others were here, to watch Finn Balor vs Shinsuke Nakamura. Joe then explains how he feels insulted by the implications of this match because everyone thinks that whoever wins will all of a sudden become a contender for his NXT Championship. He then went out to claim that he was the new face of NXT and if anyone wants to do anything they'd have to go through him. Then Rhyno's music hit.

Rhyno came out and said "So you're the one I have to go through to get to the top...then I'll go right through you. What do you say warrior?" Samoa Joe and Rhyno face off but eventually Joe walks off while yelling "I'll whip your ass on my time." I'm not sure I'd like to see Rhyno anywhere near the NXT Championship, he's never been very entertaining to me and his gimmick is kind of getting old, and that statement holds true to his character as well.

Next Week on NXT

Three matches were announced for NXT next Wednesday. They are,

Bayley vs Nia Jax: We've all seen this match before and it's not very exciting to see again. Nia Jax took the win in their last fight but I'm thinking that since Bayley might challenge Asuka for the NXT Womens Championship again, Bayley will likely win.

American Alpha vs Authors Of Pain: Meh, I guess it's kind of exciting like yay they're going to be in a feud woo hoo but it just isn't exciting. I was looking forward to American Alpha being drafted to the main roster. Guess I can say goodbye to that thought.

Samoa Joe vs Rhyno: Let Joe win, Rhyno is too old and too bland to go for the NXT Title.

Shinsuke Nakamura defeats Finn Balor

This match was spectacular. It had great moves and great wrestling. There was a part where Finn Balor did the Too Sweet hand sign on Shinsuke's head and oh my god it was just so good. It's also kind of sad though because when you think about it, this could have been Finn Balor's last match on NXT. He could be drafted to the main roster and as much as I want that to happen, it's sad seeing him leave NXT. But did he ever leave on a good note.

Star Of The Night: Shinsuke and Finn Bowing After The Match

After the amazing match they had Shinsuke helped up Finn and they bowed to each other which was just an iconic moment and an iconic ending to an iconic match.

There wasn't much to NXT this week but what was there was fantastic.
Until next time,
Devon Wizard
