Top 10 WWE Matches of 2016 (so far) PART 1

My Top 10 WWE Matches of 2016 So Far

Keep in mind that I am not including NXT matches on this list as I started watching NXT some time after 2016 started. However some of my honourable mentions from NXT are:

American Alpha vs The Revival(c) for the NXT Tag Team Champinships - NXT Takeover: Dallas

Winner: American Alpha

Shinsuke Nakamura vs Sami Zayn - NXT Takeover: Dallas

Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura

Shinsuke Nakamura vs Finn Balor - NXT 07/13/16

Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura

So without further a due, here are my Top 10 WWE Matches of 2016 so far.

10. 7 Man Ladder Match for the Intercontinental Championship - Wrestlemania 32

Winner: Zack Ryder

This was the opener match for Wrestlemania 32 and I think I speak for a lot of people when I say that this was a pleasant surprise. I like ladder matches, and this one did not disappoint. It was full of crazy spots, most notably the one where Kevin Owens pushed Sin Cara off a ladder in the ring who fell on Stardust who was laying on a ladder balanced between the ring and the barricade. The ladder broke! The most surprising part though was the finish when Zack Ryder climbed up and grabbed the belt that we never thought he'd never hold again.

9. Dean Ambrose(c) vs Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins for the WWE Championship - Battleground

Winner: Dean Ambrose

The hype for this match alone put it on this list for me. The fact that all three former Shield members after over 2 years since Seth Rollins turned on them, all being in a match by themselves was awesome. Although the match wasn't amazing to me, it had some great moments like when Seth and Dean double power bombed Roman Reigns through the announce table. It was a good match but if anything it didn't live up to it's hype like I expected. I also wish Seth Rollins would've won.

8. Roman Reigns(c) vs AJ Styles in an Extreme Rules Match for the World Heavyweight Championship - Extreme Rules

Winner: Roman Reigns

I expected for this match that AJ Styles would be carrying Roman Reigns the whole time, but was surprised. Roman Reigns held his own really well in this match and I was really impressed, however I didn't like how weak they made AJ Styles look compared to Roman Reigns. In the match Roman Reigns kicked out of 2 Styles Clash's and a bunch of chair shots but it only took one Spear from Roman to pin AJ. Other than that I liked this because Seth Rollins returned after the match which is awesome. Overall other than that one criticism. this was a good one

7. Dean Ambrose(c) vs Kevin Owens in a Last Man Standing Match for the Intercontinental Championship - Royal Rumble

Winner: Dean Ambrose

This match was definitely the best of the pay per view. There were so many good spots and for a Last Man Standing Match there were nearly no times where the guy just got up out of nowhere. The amount of spots and skill used in this match was excellent and I thought it was a really well thought through match and had a good ending, however I would've preferred Kevin Owens to win. Either way it was a great match and I like Dean Ambrose so it's not too bad.

6. Charlotte(c) vs Becky Lynch vs Sasha Banks for the Womens Championship - Wrestlemania 32

Winner: Charlotte

This was the first match for the title after it was changed that same night from the Divas Championship to the Womens Championship, and these three women proved that was the right choice. This match featured three of the most talented women on the roster right now and they killed it. It was an excellent match and although I was hoping Sasha Banks would walk away as the first Womens Champion, it was a good finish when Charlotte's dad, Ric Flair, held back Sasha forcing Becky to tap out to the Figure Eight, because it fit with her character. It was a great match and the Womens Division had never looked stronger.

That's all for part 1, be sure to check back in the coming weeks for part 2. Hope you enjoyed and
Until next time,

NXT July 27th 2016

NXT

This episode of NXT was nothing compared to the last couple and to be honest was quite boring. Let's see where they went wrong.

Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Wesley Blake

It was extremely obvious that Nakamura would win, but it was a decent match that had a funny part when Nakamura caught the kisses Wesley Blake blew at him, then threw them at the ground and stomped on them. The match ended after Shinsuke hit Kinshasa on Wesley Blake and pinned him for the win. Why is Shinsuke fighting this guy? He's too good for him in my opinion.

Billie Kay defeated Santana Garrett

I don't really know either of these people too well, and the match was pretty boring. Billie Kay won by pinfall after hitting Santana Garrett with a Big Boot.

TM61 defeated some jobbers

This was also obvious that TM61 would win since the other people I had never seen before. It was a decent match and TM61 took the win by hitting Thunder Valley. I think TM61 are very entertaining and very good but if they keep fighting jobbers like this they'll probably grow stale, I understand though that there aren't that many tag teams on the roster.

No Way Jose defeated Steve Cutler

Steve Cutler was basically just another jobber so it was obvious that No Way Jose would win, which he did. After the match though Jose would go on to say some words about his rival Austin Aries. He said Aries mistook him for something he's not, and he showed Aries how quickly he can turn the fiesta in to a fight. He finished with "So the next time you see Jose, there won't be no runnin', there ain't gonna be no stompin', because I'mma whoop...your...ass." I'm actually really in to this match and rivalry and I think will end up being one of the best feuds come Takeover Brooklyn 2, at least story wise.

Kota Ibushi defeated Buddy Murphy

Kota Ibushi, being in the WWE Cruiserweight Classic, would pick up the in after a sit up power bomb to Murphy. He won to promote the CWC but he is also the better performer so. I'm trying to follow the CWC and this match on NXT really puts Ibushi on notice.

Samoa Joe

Earlier in the night William Regal announced that at NXT Takeover Brooklyn Samoa Joe would defend his NXT Championship against Shinsuke Nakamura. Towards the end of the show Samoa Joe came out and objected to this. Joe thought that Nakamura didn't deserve the title shot because he didn't jump through the hoops Joe claimed Regal made him jump through. '

William Regal fired back by reminding Joe that he is the General Manager and he will fight who he wants Joe to fight or he will consider it a forfeit and will strip him of the NXT title right now. Joe reluctantly agreed to the match and promised to decimate Shinsuke, just like he did to Finn Balor. He added that if he sees Shinsuke before Brooklyn that the King of Strong Style may not even make it to Brooklyn. That's when Nakamura's music hit and he came out. He waved at Samoa Joe before walking off the stage as the show ended.

Star Of The Night: No Way Jose

I thought No Way Jose's promo was really good actually and that promo alone gets me really excited and hoping that at NXT Takeover Brooklyn 2 there will be a match between No Way Jose and Austin Aries. Hopefully they can back up their words in the ring together but so far this is a very interesting rivalry.

This was a predictable episode of NXT and I really hope that with losing some of their talent to the draft they replace it with new comers and make the new comers look strong.
Until next time,

Smackdown July 26th 2016

Smackdown

Like Raw, Smackdown had a new logo, theme song, and more. What did Smackdown do to try and top Monday Night Raw?

The Number One Contender

The whole roster surrounded that ring that had Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon in it. They announced that starting September 11th there will Smackdown exclusive Pay Per Views, the first being titled; Backlash. But that's in September and they need a number one contender for Dean Ambrose's WWE World Championship. The number one contender would be decided in a Six Pack Challenge that included John Cena, Bray Wyatt, Baron Corbin, AJ Styles and Dolph Ziggler.

They then announced that the sixth superstar would be the winner of a Battle Royale that is on next.

Battle Royale

When this Battle Royale started I kind of thought that the only one that I really wanted to win was Alberto Del Rio. However the final two ended up being Kane and Apollo Crews as Del Rio was eliminated earlier. At this point I was thinking that Kane was going to win but no Apollo Crews ended up eliminating Kane to win. I didn't really see Apollo winning the match and facing Ambrose for the World Title so it didn't really affect me, but I think Apollo is kind of boring.

Shelton Benjamin

It was announced that coming soon to Smackdown Live would be Shelton freaking Benjamin! This is awesome to look forward and although I do think it would've been better as a surprise, it's cool that Shelton Benjamin is coming back.

Becky Lynch defeated Natalya

In a Battleground rematch that I'm confident no one wanted to see we had a different outcome with Becky Lynch making Natalya tap out to the Disarmer. I like a lot that Becky came out on top in the end but what happened after the match was kind of weird. Alexa Bliss came out, then Naomi, then Carmella, and then finally Eva Marie. The segment just kind of ended with no explanation as to why it happened, I guess they just wanted to show their womens roster? Not going to lie it was kind of stupid, and Eva Marie got booed a lot hehe.

Miz TV with The Miz

So...The Miz decided to interview himself. After some banter between Miz, Maryse and of course himself, Randy Orton interrupted. Randy noted that Miz is clearly an expert at playing with himself...Randy is actually a savage now like what happened. Anyways Randy told Miz he wants his first match back to be tonight against the Intercontinental Champion. After Miz declined and then Randy insulted both Miz and Maryse, Maryse accepted the match for Miz, despite him clearly shitting his pants.

Randy Orton defeated The Miz

It was kind of a short match and after Miz threw Orton in the ring and got in himself, Randy hit an RKO out of nowhere! But he didn't cover him, he just sat there for what felt like forever which I thought was dumb as it made Miz look weaker than he should especially as the Intercontinental Champion. After Miz got back up Orton hit him with another RKO and this time covered him for the win. Again, I thought this was dumb and was definitely a down side of the night for me.

Heath Slater

Heath Slater came out of nowhere and beat up a jobber and went on to cut an amazing promo about how he wasn't drafted, and the crowd was getting behind every word! Shane McMahon came out and told him he was in fact looking at the number one free agent in sports entertainment. However Rhyno was standing behind Heath Slater who then gave Heath a Ghore. I don't like Rhyno. He's boring, overrated, and I'd much rather see Heath Slater than Rhyno.

Six Pack Challenge

A lot of things happened during this match, there were a lot of finishers, especially Attitude Adjustments. But after Cena gave one to Baron Corbin, Cena turned right in to a Phenomenal Forearm from AJ Styles. AJ then took a Super Kick from Dolph who pinned AJ Styles for the win!

I'm really happy Dolph won as he hasn't gotten a chance in a while but why'd he have to pin AJ? There was Baron Corbin and Apollo Crews but he had to pin AJ Styles. Anyways after that Dean Ambrose came out and the two had a stare down as they would meet at Summerslam for the WWE World Championship

Star Of The Night: Dolph Ziggler

Dolph Ziggler being the number one contender is awesome. It'd be even better if he was heel but there's still a possibility. Nonetheless Dolph deserved this and I know he'll make the most of his time in the main event scene.

Overall I think Raw was better Smackdown this week but it was still very cool to see Dolph winning that Six Pack Challenge.
Until next time,
Devon Wizard

Raw July 25th 2016

Raw

The first Raw of the New Era brought many changes, and announcements. With a new stage, commentary team and theme song, Raw was now in the New.

Announcement

The show started with Stephanie McMahon and Mick Foley in the ring. The two then welcomed the entire roster to come out on the stage, which they did. They talked about how there needs to be a Heavyweight Championship on Raw, and since Roman lost it for them they were making a new one called the WWE Universal Championship. The Inaugural Universal Champion would be decided at Summerslam where their number one draft pick Seth Rollins would face off against an opponent decided in a series of matches.

There would be two Fatal 4 Way matches on Raw. The two winners would face in the main event and the winner would go on to Summerslam to face Seth Rollins for the Universal Championship. I like that Seth Rollins is automatically in there and I like Fatal 4 Way matches so this was a win win.

First Fatal 4 Way: Finn Balor defeated Cesaro, Rusev, and Kevin Owens

Finn Balor was obviously the underdog but he ended up winning after hitting the Coup De Grace on Rusev and pinned the United States Champion. I'm ecstatic about that as Finn Balor was one of my favourites in NXT and I just really like him.

Nia Jax defeated a jobber

I don't know the jobbers name but it was obvious Nia would destroy her as she did. After hitting one Leg Drop, Nia Jax broke up her own pin to perform a second Leg Drop and picked up the victory. This makes Nia Jax look like a tank but I'm predicting right off the bat that the same thing that happened in NXT will happen where she wins all but the big match until she eventually once again gets boring.

Second Fatal 4 Way: Roman Reigns defeated Chris Jericho, Sheamus, and Sami Zayn

So one thing to note is that during the match there was a Roman chant...what? I thought those were extinct. Anyways as you guessed Roman Reigns won after hitting the Spear on Jericho because Roman wins everything...I hate Roman Reigns. Anyways that means the main event would be Finn Balor vs Roman Reigns.

The New Day Celebration

The New Day came out to celebrate their 337 day reign as the tag team champions, the longest reign in the history of the WWE. As they celebrated alongside a cool video package of highlights and a member of the crowd, who would interrupt? None other than Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson.

Luke and Karl attacked and destroyed all members of The New Day and I think this will lead to a match at Summerslam between the groups for the tag team championships. I wouldn't mind that however at the same time I wanted to see Enzo and Cass challenge The New Day for the titles. Gallows and Anderson are better than the Vaudevillains though that's for sure.

Neville defeated Curtis Axel

Neville made his in ring return on Raw against Mr. Irrelevant as they called Curtis Axel because he was Raw's last pick in the draft. However it was clear Neville was going to win from the get go and as expected he pinned him after hitting him with the Red Arrow. Everything seems good, Neville looks strong and healthy from injury and it's good to have him back.

Sasha Banks defeated Charlotte to become the new Women's Champion

What a fantastic match this was. First Sasha got Dana Brooke ejected after throwing her the belt and pretending to be knocked over when the ref wasn't looking, a tribute to her hero Eddie Guerrero. The referee then ejected Dana Brooke thinking she knocked down Sasha Banks. The match continued and it was amazing!

The match ending was really awesome. Both women on their knees, sweating and spent. Charlotte yells at Sasha "You will never beat me...EVER!". She swung at Sasha who ducked and put Charlotte in the Bank Statement. Charlotte tapped out and Sasha Banks won her first ever WWE Women's Championship. It was an amazing and emotional moment as Sasha couldn't help but cry as she held up her Women's Championship. This rivalry feels so special and I can't wait to see their Summerslam rematch.

Braun Strowman defeated a jobber

This jobber was literally so small compared to Strowman holy man. Anyways this was Braun Strowman's singles in ring debut and he dominated the little jobber. Makes Braun look huge so like what more can you ask for.

Enzo and Cass defeated The Shining Stars

After The Golden Truth were searching for Pokemon through the ring Primo got distracted. Due to this Big Cass gave Primo a Big Boot and pinned him for the victory. Not a great match and didn't really advance anything, hopefully Enzo and Cass don't get caught in the mix of mid carders who have nothing to do.

Finn Balor defeated Roman Reigns

YES! This was not expected whatsoever but Roman Reigns lost clean to Finn Balor after Finn reversed the Spear in to a Swingblade and then hit him with the Shotgun Dropkick and Coup De Grace combo. He pinned Roman and it was awesome. Can't wait to see Rollins vs Balor at Summerslam.

Star Of The Night: Rollins vs Balor at Summerslam

This is a personal dream match for me. I love both of these competitors so much and I can't wait for their match for the Universal Championship I couldn't be more excited.

I think this was a pretty good start to the New Era, hopefully they keep this coming.
Until next time,
Devon Wizard

Battleground 2016 Review

Battleground Review/Results

Kickoff Show

Breezango defeated The Usos

This match was added to the Kickoff Show a few days before Battleground and being honest I didn't have high hopes but in actuality it wasn't that bad. I'm starting to like Breezango and I hate The Usos more than ever so happy with the outcome and overall was a decent Kickoff Match.

Main Show

Sasha Banks and Bayley defeated Charlotte and Dana Brooke

As predicted Bayley was chosen as Sasha's mystery partner and also as predicted they won. This is especially good because they won by Sasha Banks making Charlotte tap out to the Bank Statement. This is awesome! Not only is Bayley on the main roster now, even if I'm not the hugest fan of her, but this victory gives Sasha waves of momentum that she can carry to Summerslam to go on and win the Women's Championship.

The Wyatt Family defeated The New Day

The Wyatt Family is breaking up and what better way to go than off a win over the Tag Team Champions. Unfortunately they likely won't get a shot at the titles but that's okay because I have a feeling that at Summerslam we're going to see Enzo and Cass vs The New Day so I'm looking forward to that.

Rusev(c) defeated Zack Ryder to retain the United States Championship

Okay so what happened was Rusev made Zack Ryder tap out to the Accolade. It was kind of a boring match to be honest and as much as I like Zack Ryder I think it was a better decision for Rusev to win. After the match however Rusev applied The Accolade on to Zack again only to be interrupted by Zack's tag team partner from NXT, Mojo Rawley. Not a huge fan of Mojo but at least I don't have to worry abut him and Rusev in a feud since they're on different brands.

Sami Zayn defeated Kevin Owens

Sami Zayn defeated Kevin Owens in what I think was honestly the match of the night. The two work together so well and put on great matches every time. I hope this isn't the end of the Zayn vs Owens saga. A match at Summerslam between the two would be awesome, maybe add some sort of stipulation to make it more interesting but all in all this was amazing.

Natalya defeated Becky Lynch

Not only is this the first prediction that I got wrong but I HATE Natalya. She really didn't need to win this as much as Becky and I don't want this match at Summerslam but at the same time I want to see Natalya lose so. Either way Natalya made Becky tap to the Sharpshooter clean which makes Becky Lynch look very weak and I think that was a bad decision.

The Miz(c) vs Darren Young Ended In A No Contest

Since it was no contest The Miz retained the Intercontinental Championship. The match ended when The Miz tried to walk out but Bob Backlund blocked him from leaving. The Miz then knocked down Backlund but Darren Young didn't like that an locked The Miz in to the Cross Face Chicken Wing. The Miz tapped but it was outside the ring, I think the match ended in a count out but it was sort of confusing. This was a great booking decision though because not only does Darren Young look strong but The Miz holds on to the title so this was great in my opinion. The match itself however wasn't stand out.

John Cena, Enzo, and Big Cass defeated The Club

This match overall was decent, however it ended with Cena hitting AJ Styles with the Attitude Adjustment off the top rope to pin him and I'm kind of torn on whether that's good or bad. On one hand it gives Cena a more legitimate reason to have a rubber match at Summerslam with AJ. However it also makes AJ Styles look weak since he was the one pinned rather than Karl Anderson or Luke Gallows. I'm undecided and even though I wanted The Club to win it was a pretty good match.

The Highlight Reel with Randy Orton

There wasn't much building up for this segment but it was really funny. Chris Jericho was so sassy to Randy and Randy was throwing it right back at him it was hilarious. I also love Randy's new #outtanowhere shirt and the fact that Jericho acknowledged the RKO Outta Nowhere meme. I thought it was going to be boring but it turned out to be really entertaining. Especially when Randy Orton said he would take Brock Lesnar to Viperville, no enhancement needed. Damn that was actually a crazy comment.

Dean Ambrose defeated Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns to retain the WWE Championship

So...needless to say I'm disappointed that Seth Rollins lost and to be honest I'm surprised he did. I thought for sure they'd want the WWE Championship on Raw like it always has been. However Dean Ambrose won meaning that for the time being it will stay on Smackdown. I presume this means that Raw will get the World Heavyweight Championship? Not sure, hopefully Raw gets some sort of major title though for the top stars to go far. This match though ended after Roman Reigns speared Rollins, but Dean slithered in and gave Dirty Deeds to Roman and pinned him for the victory. Shame.

Star Of The Night: Sami Zayn vs Kevin Owens

This easily is one of the hottest rivalries in the WWE right now and I'm sure that no one wants to see it end. These two are both outstanding performers and steal the show every time they're together, just like they did tonight. Not only that but their rivalry feels really real and personal and that's what makes a good rivalry so great job to them, here's hoping they fight again at Summerslam and Kevin Owens winning next time.

For the most part Battleground was a good, but predictable pay per view. Seth Rollins didn't win so that's kind of a bummer but I like Dean Ambrose and like that he still is the champion and not Roman Reigns so I have no complaints.
Until next time,
Devon Wizard

Battleground 2016 Predictions

Battleground Predictions

Kickoff Show

The Usos vs Breezango

Prediction: Breezango

I kind of hate The Usos nearly as much as Natalya, and at the same time I kind of like Breezango. It feels Tyler Breeze and Fandango kind of needed each other to really become interesting and I really want to see them win clean over The Usos and for that I'm picking Breezango.

Main Show

Sasha Banks and a mystery partner vs Charlotte and Dana Brooke

Prediction: Sasha Banks and mystery partner

I predict that Sasha's mystery partner is going to be Bayley from NXT and I think they will beat Charlotte and Dana Brooke. The reason I think this is because Sasha can't go off a loss to challenging Charlotte for the Womens Championship. The only reason this a tag match is because they're saving the title match for Summerslam but Sasha won't have any momentum to ride to Summerslam if she and her partner lose at Battleground.

Chris Jericho's Highlight Reel with Randy Orton

There isn't much to predict here. I guess they'll talk about his match with Brock Lesnar at Summerslam? I also think the segment will end with an RKO to Jericho or anyone else for that matter.

The New Day vs The Wyatt Family (6 Man Tag)

Prediction: The Wyatt Family

I know that The Wyatt Family are on different brands so they don't really need to be built up anymore but I still think they do. The Wyatts haven't won in a while and need a win, desperately. If they don't I feel they'll lose their momentum for good. This is a perfect time to let them win because it's not for the Tag Team Championships.

Rusev(c) with Lana vs Zack Ryder for the United States Championship

Prediction: Rusev with Lana

As much as I would like to see Zack Ryder win the title, I just don't see it. I just think that if he won it would make the title a lot less important which the US Championship can't afford right now. Rusev has helped the title since winning it from Kalisto and I don't think that should be taken away from him yet.

The Miz(c) with Maryse vs Darren Young with Bob Backlund for the Intercontinental Championship

Prediction: The Miz with Maryse

I know they're trying to push Darren Young but I don't think he's going to beat The Miz. Whether it's by shenanigans or clean, The Miz will walk out the champion because I just don't feel Darren is ready. Sure he's won all his matches since returning but the majority of the wins have been kind of sketchy. I'm not 100% about this one however, but I'm going with The Miz.

Becky Lynch vs Natalya

Prediction: Becky Lynch

This is partially because, and I can't stress it enough, I HATE NATALYA AND I WILL NEVER SIDE WITH HER. However that's not the only reason. Not only is Becky the younger talent but she needs the win more. She hasn't won any feuds in maybe a year and this is a match I feel Natalya can afford to lose, and if she can't well I don't care she can lose anyways.

Sami Zayn vs Kevin Owens

Prediction: Sami Zayn

Just so you know in any other circumstance I would pick Kevin Owens but hear me out this is my logic. I love Kevin Owens but I think Sami Zayn will win. This is because...if you remember a couple months ago at Payback Kevin Owens beat Sami Zayn clean in a one on one match. A lot has happened since then though and I feel like Sami will win because then it sets it up perfectly for a rubber match at Summerslam. So even though I want Kevin Owens to win, I pick Sami Zayn.

John Cena, Enzo, and Cass vs The Club (6 Man Tag)

Prediction: John Cena, Enzo, and Cass

Same as the match between Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. In any other circumstance I would pick The Club. However I feel like they'll give Cena's team this win so it's kind of like a victory over AJ Styles for John Cena. So they can then book a rubber match between John Cena and AJ Styles for Summerslam and hopefully if that happens, AJ will win clean.

Dean Ambrose(c) vs Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins for the WWE Championship

Prediction: Seth Rollins

Not only is Seth Rollins my favourite wrestler but for once I feel very confident that he'll beat Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose. I think what will happen is they'll want to move the WWE Championship to Raw without making Dean look weak, perfect way to do that is in a Triple Threat. Also I think they'll want to move it so they can come back with the World Heavyweight Championship for Smackdown. I don't think they'd give the win to Roman either because of his recent drug issues so who does that leave? Seth Rollins.

Collectively this pay per view, aside from the main event which I'm super hype for, doesn't seem too great to be honest. To be fair it's a B+ pay per view. There are still some good matches to look forward to though.
Until next time,
Devon Wizard

Thursday 21 July 2016

NXT July 20th 2016

NXT

With three matches scheduled one week ago for tonight, this was a fight night for NXT.

Samoa Joe defeated Rhyno

Before this match started I really wanted Samoa Joe to win. Not because I like him a lot but because I really dislike Rhyno. You can imagine I was happy when Samoa Joe forced Rhyno to tap out to the Kokieda Clutch. I'm happy Joe won right off the bat so this doesn't turn in to a feud because I personally find Rhyno extremenly non-entertaining.

Authors Of Pain defeated American Alpha

As American Alpha made their entrance, the Authors Of Pain attacked them from behind. When we came back from commercial William Regal was even out checking on them. However, American Alpha went on to the ring to proceed with their match. I hate the Authors Of Pain, so I hate that they won after hitting Chad Gable with their not yet named finishing maneuver. They then pinned him for the win, but at least this won't be rivalry...well I hope since American Alpha was drafted to the main roster.

The Revival

In a backstage interview with The Revival they were asked what was next for them as the tag team champions. They replied that since no one can beat them there's nothing to do. That's when Johnny Gargano and Tomaso Ciampa interrupted, reminding The Revival that they had beaten them, and it's only a matter of time before they beat them again, and this time for the NXT Tag Team Championships. I don't know! I like both of these teams a lot, but I have to side with my favourites since day 1; The Revival.

Hideo Itami Returns In 2 Weeks

Hideo Itami was injured when I started watching NXT so I don't know much about him other than he's a great performer and for the most part over with the crowd so I guess that's something to look forward to.

Austin Aries defeated Patrick Clark

It was clear that Patrick Clark was a jobber and also clear that because of that Austin Aries would win. However, after Austin made Patrick tap out to the Last Chancery, during Austin Aries' celebration No Way Jose attacked him and drove him out through the crowd. This is a rivalry I don't mind and actually would like to see develop some more.

Bayley defeated Nia Jax

To me it was obvious that Bayley was going to win since Nia Jax was drafted to Raw. I think after winning this match Bayley gets an NXT Womens Championship match against Asuka but it's still unclear. All we know for sure is that will be Nia's last match in NXT against Bayley at least.

Star Of The Night: Samoa Joe defeating Rhyno

I know it's kind of sucky to base what you thought was the best moment of the night on someone losing but it's true. I really don't like Rhyno and I'm really glad he lost, he shouldn't be anywhere near that NXT title unless he goes through a character change or something to make him more interesting.

NXT tonight had more matches than usual which I like, and not as much talking which I think really brings out the wrestling more in my opinion. Promos are good but sometimes there are way too many that go way too long.
Until next time,
Devon Wizard

WWE Draft 2016

The WWE Draft

In this article I will be listing off all the Draft picks and if I have an opinion on them I will make it known. If I don't really care about the Draft pick I'll just skip over it. Let's begin.

The Rules

Round 1

Raw: Seth Rollins
Smackdown: Dean Ambrose
Raw: Charlotte
Smackdown: AJ Styles
Raw: Finn Balor

I am very happy that Seth was the first overall pick I think he really deserves it. Dean drafted first for Smackdown was expected considering the first and second picks were going to be Seth and Dean. For Charlotte even though she may not be as skilled as some of the other women I understand they'd want her because of the Womens Championship. Smackdown picked AJ Styles which I love AJ Styles and it's keeping Smackdown's "New Era" theme because AJ Styles is a relatively new superstar. Lastly Finn freaking Balor! One of my favourites from NXT, I'm really excited that he got drafted to the main roster.

Round 2

Raw: Roman Reigns
Smackdown: John Cena
Raw: Brock Lesnar
Smackdown: Randy Orton
Raw: New Day

Roman Reigns went 6th overall??? That's unexpected, I guess they're kind of pissed at him for violating the Wellness Policy. John Cena also went lower than I expected, it's also something to note that Cena is on the same brand as AJ Styles which I like because I want to see that rivalry keep going. Brock Lesnar was drafted to Raw and we'll probably see him for like 3 matches a year so it doesn't matter that much. Randy Orton, Lesnar's Summerslam opponent, was drafted to the opposite brand. Randy Orton just kind of feels like a Smackdown guy. Finally, I'm glad The New Day is staying together since they're one of my favourite stables of all time.

Round 3

Raw: Sami Zayn
Smackdown: Bray Wyatt
Raw: Sasha Banks
Smackdown: Becky Lynch
Raw: Chris Jericho

Sami Zayn, eh...not a huge fan to be honest. Bray Wyatt drafted to Smackdown is cool, I like Bray Wyatt and his gimmick however this kind of confirms that after Battleground, The New Day and the Wyatt Family will part ways. Raw drafting Sasha Banks is awesome because it means she can still chase Charlotte for the Womens Championship. I'm skipping Becky Lynch as I'm not too concerned with her. Chris Jericho was drafted to Raw, all I have to say is cool. He's not in any feud at the moment so it doesn't really concern me.

Round 4

Raw: Rusev with Lana
Smackdown: The Miz with Maryse
Raw: Kevin Owens
Smackdown: Baron Corbin
Raw: Enzo and Cass

It makes sense that Rusev was drafted to Raw and Miz to Smackdown since each of them have a second tier title. I'm also happy that they're keeping Lana and Maryse with them becuase I think each of them add to their man's character. I'm glad also the Kevin Owens was drafted to Raw because Raw needed some guys I like as well Sami Zayn is on Raw so their feud can continue. Do not understand why baron Corbin was picked so early. Enzo and Cass to Raw is good because they can stay on the same brand as New Day and at some point I'd like to see Enzo and Cass with the titles.

Round 5

Raw: Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson
Smackdown: American Alpha!
Raw: Big Show
Smackdown: Dolph Ziggler
Raw: Nia Jax

NOOOOO, The Club is officially split up with AJ Styles on Smackdown and Gallows and Anderson on Raw. I predict that Gallows and Anderson will start getting cozy with Finn Balor and form a new Club. Next it's American Alpha! Suuuuuper hype that they're on the main roster, maybe this foreshadows a Kurt Angle return? Big Show? No. Dolph Ziggler, meh. Nia Jax is an interesting pick for Raw, it'd be entertaining I think for her to go against other women like Charlotte and Sasha.

Round 6

Raw: Neville
Smackdown: Natalya
Raw: Cesaro
Smackdown: Alberto Del Rio
Raw: Sheamus

Neville returning is cool even though I don't like him that much. It's especially cool that he's on Raw where the Cruiserweight Division will be. I hate Natalya so that doesn't really matter. Cesaro! Why was he picked so late? He's so under rated and I hope he doesn't spiral down to a lower card performer. The same goes with Alberto Del Rio, although I feel he's already there. Sheamus...no comment.

The rest of the picks, apart from Alexa Bliss because I love her, aren't very important in my opinion so I'm just going to list them.
