Raw June 20th 2016

Monday Night Raw Review

Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, and then Seth Rollins

The show kicked off with Dean Ambrose discussing what he did in Vegas last night then remembering "Oh yeah and I won the Money in the Bank briefcase and cashed in on Seth Rollins to become the new World Heavyweight Champion". Then Reigns came out and Dean quickly told him he would've cashed in on him too.
With that Reigns asked Ambrose if he's a fighting champion, basically challenging him to a rematch at Battleground, and then we were saved by "The Man", Seth Rollins. Rollins said "whoa whoa whoa whoa, this isn't how things work around here." Seth told them that he beat Reigns fair and square and it should be his rematch. At about this time Shane McMahon came out and announced that the main event of Raw would be Seth Rollins vs Roman Reigns to determine who will face Dean Ambrose for the World Heavyweight Championship which is like WHAT? Seth beat Roman last night...nonetheless they would face off again.

Sami Zayn defeats Kevin Owens

Sami Zayn beat Kevin Owens by a roll up which I really hope means that they will be fighting again, and hopefully at a pay per view, because whenever these guys are in the ring together its amazing. After their match however Kevin Owens attacked Sami Zayn and this lead to a brawl that went all through that commercial break, and backstage. It ended when the refs were able to separate the two but I would be really excited to see this match again, even though we saw it at Payback a couple months ago...but we won't talk about that.

...it's John Lauranaitis

A few returns happened tonight, one of them was one that no one expected and I doubt anyone wanted. That of John Lauranaitis. If you don't remember him or don't know who he is he was around a lot in 2011 and was in a bit of a mini feud with CM Punk. Anyways John was talking about the brand split and how he wanted to be the general manager of either Raw or Smackdown. Shane then came out and told him that isn't possible because he would be running them both. Thank god I won't have to listen to him cough in to the mic every week (sorry for stealing your joke Enzo.)

Enzo and Cass defeat The Vaudevillains

Enzo and Cass came out almost immediately after that segment and high key roasted John Lauranaitis saying "If I had a dime for every time something relevant came out his mouth...I'd have zero dimes!" Anyways Enzo and Cass defeated The Vaudevillains with ease hopefully putting them back in to the tag team title picture.

The Club Apologizes

AJ Styles came out and told everyone that "Gallows and Anderson had no business in my business." However he didn't tone down the gloating for beating John Cena, an example of him being an excellent heel. However he had Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson come out and publicly apologize to him. After they willingly apologized,
AJ asked them to apologize to one more person...John Cena.
John Cena came out and didn't accept the apology, but instead told AJ he's using The Club because he's afraid he's not as good as he thinks he is. AJ then told John he's using The Club as an excuse because John isn't as good as he thinks he is. This turned in to AJ telling Cena he could challenge anyone in The Club in a match tonight...except AJ Styles.

John Cena defeats Karl Anderson

Jesus why'd they feel the need to make Cena look so strong and Anderson so weak?? I don't think Karl Anderson even got one hit in. The whole match though John Cena was looking at the entrance ramp waiting for the rest of The Club to interfere, but they never did. Until Cena hit the attitude adjustment on Karl Anderson and pinned him. The count didn't get to three before AJ Styles and Luke Gallows interfered. Gallows and Anderson hit the Magic Killer on John and then Styles hit him with Styles Clash, which leaves me excited for how this feud will continue. I hope The Club doesn't interfere too much the next time AJ Styles beats John Cena, hehe.

What's With Natalya??

In a backstage interview with Renee Young and Becky Lynch, Becky was explain how perplexed she was by Natalya and wondering why everyone was turning on her. Just as she was explaining, who attacks her from behind? Natalya. Natalya also said "For the first time in years, I'm looking out for myself. Does that answer your question Becky?' No, it really doesn't. You can look out for yourself go ahead but was it necessary to attack Becky to prove that point? I personally do not think so.

Baron Corbin defeats Zack Ryder

I don't really know, there's nothing to really say. This didn't progress either of them in any way so I don't have anything to say.

Charlotte retains the Women's Championship against Paige

I was actually a bit angry about this because I really like Paige and I think she deserves to win the title again at some point. However after Paige hit the Rampage, Dana Brooke pulled Charlotte's foot on the rope, but botched it by putting her foot under the rope rather than over the rope. If you can't do that Dana what can you do? Anyways Charlotte hit Paige with her new finisher due to the Dana Brooke distraction to pin Paige.

Guess Who's Back...

After the match Charlotte and Dana Brooke began an attack on Paige when Sasha Banks' music hit. The crowd lit up as did I and Charlotte sent Dana to get Sasha but Sasha right hooked her down, then went for Charlotte hitting her with the Banks Statement. Sasha held up the title in dominance as Dana Brooke and Charlotte retreated. I'm super happy Sasha Banks is back from injury, hopefully to take the Women's Championship from Charlotte.

Another Return...?

This Raw marked the return of Bray Wyatt and the Wyatt family which I honestly missed so much. Everything was super cool and serious and then The New Day interrupted which to be honest I wasn't too happy about. After some trash talk though Bray Wyatt ended the segment by saying the New Day had made a big mistake by provoking the stronger than ever Wyatt family and slowly chanted "New, Day Falls."

Rusev and Titus O'Neil

Before the match even started Titus O'Neil started to beat the living hell out of Rusev because he insulted his kids. This caused Rusev to retreat which I think unfortunately means we will see a rematch between Rusev and Titus O'Neil.

Seth Rollins vs Roman Reigns

The main event had come and with Ambrose at commentary it was set to be a good match, and it was. Not as good as at Money in the Bank but still good. It ended with Roman spearing Seth outside the ring. Neither of the two men could get back in to ring before the referee counted them out which means the match was a draw.
When Shane McMahon came out to sort it out Dean offered to face them both because he's freaking crazy, and awesome. So the match at Battleground will be Dean Ambrose defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins in a triple threat match. After the announcement Ambrose was gloating and when Roman got annoyed Dean hit him with Dirty Deeds, yes thank you Dean. As Dean walked away Seth attempted to Pedigree the vulnerable Roman Reigns, but Dean came back and gave him Dirty Deeds as well, why Dean why?

Star of the Night: Sasha Banks is Back

My star of the night definitely has to go to the return of Sasha Banks, so excited for her to challenge for the Women's Championship since she's my favourite women wrestler.

In conclusion I was quite impressed with Monday Night Raw. Stay tuned for some news on the suspension of a top WWE star.
Until next time,
Devon Wizard
