NXT June 29th 2016

NXT

Alexa Bliss defeats Carmella

I believe it was the right decision for Alexa Bliss to win as I'm not sure that Carmella is ready for anything too serious yet. This match would be a build up to something that happened later in the night but apart from that it was nothing special.

Bayley

There was an interview with Bayley where Bayley said that she wanted her rematch against Asuka for the NXT Womens Championship. That's when Alexa Bliss interrupted saying she wasn't the one pinned in the triple threat match to determine the number one contender a couple weeks ago and that she deserves a title shot. She also said that if Bayley wants a shot she'll have to go through her which I hope Alexa Bliss wins. I don't care if she cheats I just want to see her with the belt.

Andrade Cien Almas defeats Noah Potjes

Noah Potjes was just a jobber and this match was solely existing to build up some credibility and popularity for Andrade in my opinion.

Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano defeat The Hype Bros

The wrestling was surprisingly good in this match and I'm happy with the outcome, however it was what happened after the match that was exciting which will be gone in to more depth in the Star of the Night.

Star of the Night: 2 Out Of 3 Falls

After the main event Gargano went on the mic and said that a few weeks back they beat The Revivial which means they think they should have a match for the titles. That's when American Alpha came out and said that they're the ones who deserve a title match. They were both interrupted by The Revival who said "American Alpha, it may be in your name, but you are no longer the Alphas around here." They said that they dictate the terms and as far as they're concerned niether of them deserve a shot.

The General Manager William Regal then
came out and said that actually he dictates the terms around here and next week the titles will be on the line in a 2 out of 3 falls match between The Revival and American Alpha. After the segment The Authors of Pain attacked American Alpha which to be honest is unimportant to me. The 2 out of 3 falls match is exciting though, however this is my prediction for the outcome. The score will be 1 to 1 and The Authors of Pain will cost American Alpha the last fall allowing The Revival to retain, which I don't mind I just don't want a feud between American Alpha and Authors of Pain.

Overall this was an underwhelming episode of NXT not including the fallout after the main event.

Raw June 27th 2016

Monday Night Raw

The show began with Seth Rollins coming out, I would like to add they did promote the Triple Threat Match at Battleground which officially confirms that despite Roman Reigns' suspension the match will go on.
Seth Rollins would go on to say that he's supposed to talk about the triple threat but he wants to talk about Roman Reigns. Seth acknowledged Romans suspension and went on to tell everyone how humiliating it is that Roman got suspended since in Seth's eyes he's the one who mentored him through WWE. After quoting Romans tweet owning up to the suspension Seth said "you can own up to it all you want but the bottom line is I OWN YOU". Seth Rollins thought Roman Reigns should be taken out of the match so Seth can have the 1 on 1 rematch that he deserves.
That's when Dean Ambrose came out to interrupt the greatness that Seth Rollins is. He asked Seth "is this about Roman, or is it about me having this?" referring to the World Title. Dean also said Roman made a mistake and everyone does and that as far as he's concerned it's still a triple threat match...Roman doesn't deserve a rematch but ok.
That's when AJ Styles music hits and I got quite excited to be honest. AJ then proposed the idea of making it a Fatal 4 Way with all three former Shield members plus AJ Styles. That's when Cena's music hit and Cena thought that it should be a Fatal 5 Way with those four plus John Cena. Stephanie McMahon cleared the air and told everyone that tonight it will be John Cena vs Seth Rollins and AJ Styles vs Dean Ambrose. If Styles and/or Cena won they'd be added to the title match at Battleground. Right away I thought that they were both going to lose but whatever it made everything a bit more exciting.

Sasha Banks and Paige defeat Charlotte and Dana Brooke

Sasha was in the ring fro the first time on TV since her injury and she did well. I missed her and watching her wrestle and can't wait for the match between her and Charlotte to be officially scheduled for Battleground.

Titus O'Neil defeats Rusev

I'm not a fan of this, even if it was a count out victory. You're supposed to make Rusev look strong and I know it was a count out but that means this feud will continue and I'd rather Rusev face someone else.

Seth Rollins defeats John Cena

One thing to mention is on his way to the ring the commentators spoke about Cena's debut against Kurt Angle and said Kurt's name...could this mean a Kurt Angle return in the future?? During the match though The Club distracted Cena allowing Rollins to hit him with the Pedigree and pick up the win ensuring Cena would not be in the title match. I'd also like to add I got super spooked when Seth did a sunset flip which is how he got injured but he's good so good for you Seth.

Enzo and Cass defeat some random jobbers in 10 seconds...

After the match there was a semi comedic segment between them and the Social Outcasts but really nothing noteworthy unless it leads to a rivalry which I sincerely hope it doesn't, Enzo and Cass are better than that.

Becky Lynch vs Summer Rae

...was supposed to happen but before it started Becky attacked Natalya who was at commentary. The brawl ended at ringside with the ref holding Becky back as Becky screamed at Natalya "you messed with the wrong girl!" I didn't want this rivalry to happen but it seems it is and I'm not a fan of either so it doesn't concern me. However they're both amazing wrestlers.

Chris Jericho's Highlight Reel featuring Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens

Chris asked the two about their friendship and the way it ended when Sami told everyone that this rivalry is negatively effecting the careers of both himself and Kevin Owens. He offered they put it to an end at Battleground. Owens then blamed Zayn for their friendship ending because he never supported him, and told him that he has his match at Battleground. This ended with the both of them double super kicking Jericho because he was being arrogant. I'm a huge fan of this match as both are great performers, I hope Owens wins but at this point I'm not sure who I think will win.

The Miz retains the Intercontinental Championship against Demon Kane

During the match Maryse tripped and appeared to have injured her ankle, causing The Miz to leave the match to carry her out. This caused Miz to be counted out and Kane winning, here's hoping that Miz vs Kane doesn't become a feud.

Cesaro and Apollo Crews defeat Alberto Del Rio and Sheamus

During the match Sheamus and Del Rio showed attitude towards each other. This came to a climax when Del Rio tagged in Sheamus by slapping him and followed that up with and insigurie. He then walked off allowing Crews to pick up the pin over Sheamus. I'd actually want to see a feud between Sheamus and Del Rio, forget about Apollo Crews. I want to see that.

The New Day and The Wyatt Family

The New Day came out dressed as the Wyatt Family and started making jokes about them. The Wyatts cut them off though. They began to argue but what I noticed was that Xavier looked scared throughout this and he seemed very neutral and just not like himself. He was like this backstage after the segment and I think this might be leading to some sort of story line where Xavier Woods turns to the dark side or something. I wouldn't mind that to be fair.

Dean Ambrose defeats AJ Styles

At this point I pretty much knew that Ambrose would win. During the match Seth was on commentary and was cheering on Dean because he did not want Styles in their match. The Club came out though and just about cost Dean the match but Cena came out and beat them up.On top of that he distracted AJ long enough for Dean Ambrose to hit Dirty Deeds and pin AJ Styles.
During his celebration though Rollins came and hit him with not one but two Pedigrees, as The club hit Cena with Magic Killer on the stage in rage from him costing AJ the match. The show ended with the heels standing tall, specifically Rollins holding up the World Heavyweight Championship.

Star of the Night: Rey Mysterio

During a commercial there was an ad for the WWE Draft coming up on July 19th. They showed a montage of superstars and for one of the frames there was a picture of Rey Mysterio. I think this confirms Rey Mysterio's return at the draft at the latest which I'm super hyped for.

In conclusion this episode of Raw didn't have too much build up to Battleground but was good nonetheless.
Until next time,

Top 5 Wrestlers

My Top 5 Favourite Current WWE Wrestlers

5. The Miz

When I first started watching the WWE I was in the 4th or 5th grade and The Miz was WWE Champion. Looking at what people on the internet think now apparently his run as champ wasn't that popular but I loved it. I especially gravitated towards The Miz since when I started watching he had a feud against John Cena whom I hated. I still like him but not as much as I did as he's no longer in the main event scene and to be honest I'd be surprised if he ever was again.

4. Dean Ambrose

I was a fan of Ambrose since he debuted in The Shield alongside Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. The first night I saw them I remember thinking how cool they looked in their black turtle necks and CIA looking outfits. I also liked that they helped CM Punk win the title when they debuted. After The Shield I continued to like him but excelled even more in the lead up to Wrestlemania 32 against Brock Lesnar. Ambrose's wacky unexpected character is hard not to enjoy and I hope he hangs on to the World Heavyweight Championship, or at least stay in the title picture for a little while longer.

3. Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens has made it clear that he is quite literally one of the best performers in the WWE. We knew from when he debuted that Kevin Owens was one of the best wrestlers, but he hasn't made much of himself on the mic until Payback 2016 when after his match he went on commentary. I remember laughing out loud at him roasting the other commentators. Since then he's made himself the main character in all his interviews and promos and continues to be one of the best overall performers in the world.

2. AJ Styles

When AJ Styles debuted in the 2016 Royal Rumble I wasn't sure who he was...well I knew who he was I just hadn't seen him wrestle before, though I knew that he was known worldwide for his skill. I didn't like the feud he was first put in to with Chris Jericho but both superstars worked hard to make it entertaining. Later on when he had a feud with Roman Reigns is where I thought he really began to shine and when I really started to get behind him. If you know me you know I like heels better than faces so I was ecstatic when he turned heel against John Cena. I really hope he wins this feud against Cena because Styles doesn't deserve to be buried.

1. Seth Rollins

Since he debuted with The Shield, Seth Rollins was my favourite member. I liked his look, I liked his style, and I liked his heel turn. When Seth turned heel it really separated him and made him an individual star, especially now a days. Seth's world title run was good up until the match with Kane which was quite awful, but I think all his other opponents were good. His character is my favourite in the WWE and I can't wait to see if he'll take back the title at Battleground on July 24th.

So there you have it, those are my top 5 favourite wrestlers in the WWE right now. Comment what your top 5 wrestlers are and

Smackdown June 23rd 2016

Smackdown

This weeks Smackdown opened with a small video package from Raw highlighting the confrontation and everything that went down between Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and the World Heavyweight Champion Dean Ambrose. What does this mean for the main event of Battleground? Hopefully we'll find out soon.

Seth Rollins Promo

Seth Rollins came out and discussed how it's unfair that he went through 7 months of recovery and he's worked the hardest out of everyone and after fighting the match of his life he still doesn't have the championship. He then went on to say that at Battleground he will prove that he was, is, and always will be the best member of the Shield, which I fully agree with.
Then, in an attempt to prove that he was more of a man than Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose, he issued an open challenge. The one to accept his challenge was Sami Zayn. After a rather pointless segment where Ambrose came out and did the Ambrose Asylum with the two, the main event of Smackdown was set. Sami Zayn vs Seth Rollins.

Cesaro defeats Alberto Del Rio

There wasn't much to this match except a semi botched back stabber where Cesaro jumped too late. Other than that unless this match is foreshadowing a rivalry between the two, which I wouldn't mind seeing, it was quite uneventful. However I don't expect to see a rivalry between Cesaro and Alberto Del Rio.

Sheamus defeats Apollo Crews in a Money in the Bank Rematch

At Money in the Bank Apollo Crews beat Sheamus via a roll up. On Smackdown Sheamus beat Apollo by giving him a brogue kick to the back and knocking him in to the steel steps. Apollo Crews didn't get back in to the ring in time and Sheamus won by count out. Unfortunately I think this means this rivalry will continue. It's boring and has no purpose, give them a real purpose to make the rivalry more interesting.

AJ Styles defeats Jimmy Uso

After a backstage segment between The Usos and The Club, Jimmy Uso challenged AJ Styles to a one on one match. During the match, Jey Uso was at ringside and got attacked by both Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson. Jimmy got distracted trying to save his brother which lead to Styles hitting him with the Phenomenal Forearm for the victory. It was a good match it's just too bad the Cena vs Styles rivalry didn't progress.

The New Day defeats The Vaudevillains

To me it kind of seemed like we'd seen this match way too many times. Whatever that's fine, because after The New Day's victory The Wyatt Family appeared on the Titantron. Bray Wyatt, flanked by Erick Rowan and Braun Strowman, told The New Day that they made a painful mistake interrupting their return. He added "and the thing about pain is it demands to be felt." He ended his promo by saying that no matter what "New...Day falls." I'd like to see the Wyatt Family win this rivalry to be honest since they've been away for so long. Side note: Where's Luke Harper?

Dana Brooke defeats Becky Lynch

After a distraction from Charlotte, Dana Brooke botched the roll up but nonetheless picked up the win over Becky Lynch. After the match Dana continued a beat down but when Becky threw her out of the ring, Charlotte attacked from behind who then threw Becky out the ring. Then Sasha Banks came out, yes!! She attempted to attack Charlotte who retreated, and instead Sasha applied the Bank Statement on Dana Brooke whilst looking in to the eyes of Charlotte. This gets me excited to see Sasha chase for the belt and hopefully win it at Battleground or even better, Summerslam.

Seth Rollins defeats Sami Zayn

After rolling back in to the ring when the fight spilled outside, Rollins quickly set up and hit Sami with the Pedigree pinning him 123. After the match a brawl ensued between Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose who was watching the match from ringside. It ended in the ring where Seth Rollins narrowly escaped Dirty Deeds from Dean Ambrose.

Star of the Night: Triple Threat is still on...for now

In between Seth Rollins' and Sami Zayn's entrances during the main event, they promoted The Shield triple threat match; Seth Rollins vs Roman Reigns vs Dean Ambrose. Now I know Smackdown is pre recorded on Tuesday but this may mean we could still get the match, despite Roman's suspension.

WWE is certainly making Battleground look like it will be a good pay per view so far, apart from Apollo Crews vs Sheamus,
which I'm sure will be on the Battleground card.
Until next time,

CM Punk

CM Punk's UFC Debut

For those of you who don't know CM Punk is my favourite wrestler of all time. Dropping a pipe bomb in 2011 which would be known as one of the most infamous promos of all time when the lines between kayfabe and reality were blurred. This also lead to CM Punk's 434 day WWE Championship reign and much more. However, due to his not so good relationship with Vince McMahon, CM Punk walked out on WWE in 2014.

This wouldn't be the end for CM Punk though, shortly after in December of 2014 CM Punk at 37 years old signed a contract with the UFC. At that time he was expected to make his debut at UFC 199 or 200, but suffered back injuries during training which required surgery and wiping those plans.

Now however CM Punk's new debut has been announced and will be at UFC 203 on September 10th in Cleveland. He will be fighting Mickey Gall who is 2-0 in the UFC winning both fights via submission.

I hope Phil Brooks as he will now be known finds great success.

NXT June 22nd 2016

NXT

The show opened with highlights from last weeks main encounter between Finn Balor and Shinsuke Nakamura. It was a fun highlights video and excites me more for their match in 3 weeks. I also think that when the match comes Shinsuke Nakamura will go over clean and it will be Finn's last match in NXT as he moves up to the main roster.

Oney Lorcan defeats Tye Dillinger

Really? Why are they booking Dillinger like this? Oney Lorcan, a guy I have never heard of nor seen beat him clean. Lorcan didn't even get an entrance. Please make Tye Dillinger seem like a force to be reckoned with because right now, as Corey Graves put it, the perfect 10 is a 5 at best.

No Way Jose defeats Josh Woods

The match itself was fine, but that wasn't the important part of what happened. During Jose's celebration Austin Aries' music hit. He said that despite his loss to Shinsuke Nakamura at Takeover The End, he remembered that NXT is all about having fun, and for that he thanked No Way Jose. After they began to dance which lead to the two dancing on the commentary table, only for Austin Aries to strike Jose with a right forearm. He attacked Jose and ended the assault by applying the No Chancery on Jose on the entrance ramp. I don't mind this feud and in my opinion Austin Aries is a way better heel than he is face, I just worry Jose will take away the seriousness from Aries.

Bayley defeats Deonna Purazzo

This match in my opinion was just to show everyone that Bayley is back from her injury and ready for her rematch against Asuka for the NXT Women's Championship.

Nia Jax defeats Liv Morgan

I guess they just wanted to make sure that we still looked at her as a dominant force after her loss at Takeover The End, which quite honestly we don't. Her "big and strong" gimmick is running thin especially with her not being able to win the title.

Shinsuke Nakamura defeats Buddy Murphy

Before this match even started I knew Shinsuke would win and personally I think anything involving the "King of Strong Style" is exciting. Glad he got a victory and can't wait for his match against Finn Balor.

Star of the Night: Austin Aries Heel Turn

I hadn't seen Austin Aries before NXT so I had only seen him as a face and personally I wasn't a fan, but now that he's a heel I can really see myself buying in to his gimmick a bit more.

My only criticism is that we didn't see any champions, if they're the stars of your show maybe show them??? Anyways that's all for now.
Until next time,

Roman Reigns Suspension

Roman Reigns Suspended

WWE has suspended Roman Reigns for his first violation of the WWE's talent wellness policy. It has not been released what the violation was but one would assume it's for substance abuse. Effective yesterday, June 21st 2016, Roman Reigns would be suspended for 30 days.

This recent suspension leaves the fans wondering a few things. Will they still have the triple threat match at Battleground since in 30 days it will be July 21st and Battleground is July 24th? Apparently news broke out that WWE officials knew about the violation before Money in the Bank and they made the triple threat match on Raw. Does this mean the triple threat match will go on? One more thing to consider is that Roman Reigns will be absent from WWE's Draft, so who will be the number one pick? My prediction is likely Dean Ambrose.

That's all the news on Roman Reigns' suspension, I hope he's back in time for the triple threat match everyone wants to see.

Raw June 20th 2016

Monday Night Raw Review

Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, and then Seth Rollins

The show kicked off with Dean Ambrose discussing what he did in Vegas last night then remembering "Oh yeah and I won the Money in the Bank briefcase and cashed in on Seth Rollins to become the new World Heavyweight Champion". Then Reigns came out and Dean quickly told him he would've cashed in on him too.
With that Reigns asked Ambrose if he's a fighting champion, basically challenging him to a rematch at Battleground, and then we were saved by "The Man", Seth Rollins. Rollins said "whoa whoa whoa whoa, this isn't how things work around here." Seth told them that he beat Reigns fair and square and it should be his rematch. At about this time Shane McMahon came out and announced that the main event of Raw would be Seth Rollins vs Roman Reigns to determine who will face Dean Ambrose for the World Heavyweight Championship which is like WHAT? Seth beat Roman last night...nonetheless they would face off again.

Sami Zayn defeats Kevin Owens

Sami Zayn beat Kevin Owens by a roll up which I really hope means that they will be fighting again, and hopefully at a pay per view, because whenever these guys are in the ring together its amazing. After their match however Kevin Owens attacked Sami Zayn and this lead to a brawl that went all through that commercial break, and backstage. It ended when the refs were able to separate the two but I would be really excited to see this match again, even though we saw it at Payback a couple months ago...but we won't talk about that.

...it's John Lauranaitis

A few returns happened tonight, one of them was one that no one expected and I doubt anyone wanted. That of John Lauranaitis. If you don't remember him or don't know who he is he was around a lot in 2011 and was in a bit of a mini feud with CM Punk. Anyways John was talking about the brand split and how he wanted to be the general manager of either Raw or Smackdown. Shane then came out and told him that isn't possible because he would be running them both. Thank god I won't have to listen to him cough in to the mic every week (sorry for stealing your joke Enzo.)

Enzo and Cass defeat The Vaudevillains

Enzo and Cass came out almost immediately after that segment and high key roasted John Lauranaitis saying "If I had a dime for every time something relevant came out his mouth...I'd have zero dimes!" Anyways Enzo and Cass defeated The Vaudevillains with ease hopefully putting them back in to the tag team title picture.

The Club Apologizes

AJ Styles came out and told everyone that "Gallows and Anderson had no business in my business." However he didn't tone down the gloating for beating John Cena, an example of him being an excellent heel. However he had Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson come out and publicly apologize to him. After they willingly apologized,
AJ asked them to apologize to one more person...John Cena.
John Cena came out and didn't accept the apology, but instead told AJ he's using The Club because he's afraid he's not as good as he thinks he is. AJ then told John he's using The Club as an excuse because John isn't as good as he thinks he is. This turned in to AJ telling Cena he could challenge anyone in The Club in a match tonight...except AJ Styles.

John Cena defeats Karl Anderson

Jesus why'd they feel the need to make Cena look so strong and Anderson so weak?? I don't think Karl Anderson even got one hit in. The whole match though John Cena was looking at the entrance ramp waiting for the rest of The Club to interfere, but they never did. Until Cena hit the attitude adjustment on Karl Anderson and pinned him. The count didn't get to three before AJ Styles and Luke Gallows interfered. Gallows and Anderson hit the Magic Killer on John and then Styles hit him with Styles Clash, which leaves me excited for how this feud will continue. I hope The Club doesn't interfere too much the next time AJ Styles beats John Cena, hehe.

What's With Natalya??

In a backstage interview with Renee Young and Becky Lynch, Becky was explain how perplexed she was by Natalya and wondering why everyone was turning on her. Just as she was explaining, who attacks her from behind? Natalya. Natalya also said "For the first time in years, I'm looking out for myself. Does that answer your question Becky?' No, it really doesn't. You can look out for yourself go ahead but was it necessary to attack Becky to prove that point? I personally do not think so.

Baron Corbin defeats Zack Ryder

I don't really know, there's nothing to really say. This didn't progress either of them in any way so I don't have anything to say.

Charlotte retains the Women's Championship against Paige

I was actually a bit angry about this because I really like Paige and I think she deserves to win the title again at some point. However after Paige hit the Rampage, Dana Brooke pulled Charlotte's foot on the rope, but botched it by putting her foot under the rope rather than over the rope. If you can't do that Dana what can you do? Anyways Charlotte hit Paige with her new finisher due to the Dana Brooke distraction to pin Paige.

Guess Who's Back...

After the match Charlotte and Dana Brooke began an attack on Paige when Sasha Banks' music hit. The crowd lit up as did I and Charlotte sent Dana to get Sasha but Sasha right hooked her down, then went for Charlotte hitting her with the Banks Statement. Sasha held up the title in dominance as Dana Brooke and Charlotte retreated. I'm super happy Sasha Banks is back from injury, hopefully to take the Women's Championship from Charlotte.

Another Return...?

This Raw marked the return of Bray Wyatt and the Wyatt family which I honestly missed so much. Everything was super cool and serious and then The New Day interrupted which to be honest I wasn't too happy about. After some trash talk though Bray Wyatt ended the segment by saying the New Day had made a big mistake by provoking the stronger than ever Wyatt family and slowly chanted "New, Day Falls."

Rusev and Titus O'Neil

Before the match even started Titus O'Neil started to beat the living hell out of Rusev because he insulted his kids. This caused Rusev to retreat which I think unfortunately means we will see a rematch between Rusev and Titus O'Neil.

Seth Rollins vs Roman Reigns

The main event had come and with Ambrose at commentary it was set to be a good match, and it was. Not as good as at Money in the Bank but still good. It ended with Roman spearing Seth outside the ring. Neither of the two men could get back in to ring before the referee counted them out which means the match was a draw.
When Shane McMahon came out to sort it out Dean offered to face them both because he's freaking crazy, and awesome. So the match at Battleground will be Dean Ambrose defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins in a triple threat match. After the announcement Ambrose was gloating and when Roman got annoyed Dean hit him with Dirty Deeds, yes thank you Dean. As Dean walked away Seth attempted to Pedigree the vulnerable Roman Reigns, but Dean came back and gave him Dirty Deeds as well, why Dean why?

Star of the Night: Sasha Banks is Back

My star of the night definitely has to go to the return of Sasha Banks, so excited for her to challenge for the Women's Championship since she's my favourite women wrestler.

In conclusion I was quite impressed with Monday Night Raw. Stay tuned for some news on the suspension of a top WWE star.
Until next time,
Devon Wizard

Money In The Bank 2016 Review

Money In The Bank Review and Results

Kickoff Show Matches:

The Golden Truth defeats Breezango

I'm kind of getting in to The Golden Truth to be honest. I like that they picked up a victory and Breezango had some very comedic moments with the sun burning and everything. It was an okay match nonetheless and have nothing bad to say about it.

The Lucha Dragons defeat The Dudley Boyz

Why? This match was pointless and boring, I don't even want to write about it.

Main Show Matches:

The New Day defeat Enzo and Cass, The Club, and The Vaudevillains to retain the Tag Team Championships

As expected The New Day retain. It was a good, fast paced match most of the time however I was a bit confused by the ending when The New Day did their finisher on Karl Anderson but pinned Aiden English who had already been laying there for like 10 minutes. It made the Vaudevillains look pretty weak, not that that's a problem with me, they have such a dumb gimmick.

Charlotte and Dana Brooke defeat Natalya and Becky Lynch

Personally I thought this match would go the other way but instead it was almost the opposite of what I thought would happen. Natalya was pinned after Dana Brooke threw Becky Lynch in to her and after the match Natalya blindsided Becky. WHAT? WHY? Some stupid reason probably.

Baron Corbin defeats Dolph Ziggler

Good. Baron Corbin picked up a clean win on Dolph and now hopefully, for gods sake hopefully, this feud can be over and these two can let bygones be bygones and move on with their lives.

Apollo Crews defeats Sheamus

By a roll up...I have a bad feeling that this already meaningless feeling feud will continue due to the roll up victory. Why couldn't you have just done your finisher Apollo, why? Anyways this match was a bit boring anyways and I feel like it could be another Dolph Ziggler vs Baron Corbin feud...the kind that go on for ages and are boring as hell.

AJ Styles defeats John Cena

Very happy that AJ got a victory over Cena. However the ending was just meh. I would've liked to see Styles win clean but I mean I'll take what I can get. I also know that in their next match Cena will probably win and the rubber match will be at Summerslam. Here's hoping Styles comes out on top of this feud because we all know John doesn't need it. You could catch him sucking a pacifier while struggling to lift ten pounds and he wouldn't look weak. Still, it's likely Cena will win the feud, much to my dismay.

Dean Ambrose defeats Sami Zayn, Cesaro, Alberto Del Rio, Kevin Owens, and Chris Jericho

First I'd like to address the backstage segment between Owens, Del Rio, and Jericho because I thought that was super entertaining and funny. Owens made it what it was and he deserves more credibility than he has. Dean won the Money in the Bank though and the match was overall pretty good. Kevin Owens took a nasty bump on that ladder which was insane, and I also liked how Owens and Ambrose were the last two on the ladder to win it all considering they were the two most likely to win. Good match overall and glad with the outcome.

Rusev defeats Titus O'Neil to retain the United States Championship

This match showcased Rusev as the amazing and dominant heel he is. Not only was he screaming for Titus to look at his kids as he made him tap out but he insulted his kids after the match. Can't wait to see what's next for Rusev because I know whatever it is Rusev will knock it out of the park.

Seth Rollins defeats Roman Reigns to become the new World Heavyweight Champion

No...freaking...way. Seth Rollins beat Roman Reigns...clean.
He beat him fair and square and it was an absolutely fantastic match. The confusing thing was the whole time Seth seemed to be wrestling like a face while Roman was wrestling like a heel. Was this an attempt at a double turn from WWE and if so, will they capitalize on it tonight on Raw? So many questions have been opened up. I'd also like to talk about how Seth reversed a spear in to a Pedigree! That was amazing and this match was overall fantastic.

Dean Ambrose defeats Seth Rollins to become the new World Heavyweight Champion

Just as Rollins is celebrating his new World Title win and D-Wiz is dancing in his living room, who's music hits? None other than the music of Dean Ambrose. My initial reaction was surprised even though I low key saw it coming. Seth would prepare for Dean but Dean would come from behind and smack Seth in the back of the head with the briefcase. He would then cash in the briefcase and hit Dirty Deeds on Rollins and pin him to win his first World Heavyweight Championship. This opens up so many more questions and leaves me putting more faith in to WWE booking. I also see the Shield Triple Threat match coming which I am so excited for. I wish Seth had kept the title but I'm happy that at least Reigns doesn't have it.

I guess we'll see what happens on Raw, who's heel? Who's face? Hopefully our questions will be answered tonight. Stay tuned for my Monday Night Raw review.
Until next time,

Jerry Lawler Suspension

Jerry "The King" Lawler Arrested For Domestic Violence

Officers arrested Lawler and his girlfriend after receiving a call from his home in East Memphis. He was arrested for charges of Domestic Violence and is expected to be in court on Monday. In a short interview with "The King" he stated "it was just a misunderstanding that got out of hand." He also said that due to WWE's zero tolerance policy as of right now he is suspended indefinitely.

Smackdown June 16th 2016

Smackdown

On this episode of Smackdown since it's the last before Money in the Bank I was expecting it to be boring due to all the possible matches being done before the pay per view. However, with some segments I was pleasantly surprised, others were exactly as I expected. Let's break it down in my recap of Smackdown.

Chris Jericho's Highlight Reel

There wasn't much benefit for this in my opinion, Dean Ambrose was his guest and apart from Jericho being a great heel and Ambrose adding some humour to the segment, nothing really came from it. Especially when everyone else in the Money in the Bank match came out it became really messy feeling and they all ended up in a brawl, as they always do.

Kofi Kingston defeating Big Cass, Aiden English, and Luke Gallows

I think this Fatal Four Way was a great way to hype up the tag team title match on Sunday, however just like the Highlight Reel things began to feel messy really quick with the other members of the tag teams interfering. Kofi picked up the pin after hitting Trouble in Paradise on Aiden English which I think will be a very similar outcome at Money in the Bank.

Baron Corbin defeats Zack Ryder

Nothing against Zack but if he won this I would've...done something very bad. It's good that Baron won before his pay per view match and good that he's riding this momentum in to hopefully a victory. Only thing I didn't like about this match was Dolph being so obnoxious on commentary, he kept calling Zack "kid." Zack has been here longer than you Dolph...

Rusev looks absolutely amazing...for a few minutes

Rusev was scheduled to face Kalisto, but as Kalisto jumped in to the ring Ru Ru caught him and began the annihilation. He absolutely pummelled Kalisto putting him in a wrenching Accolade only stopped by Sin Cara coming out. That was alright for Rusev as he demolished him as well, Rusev was coming off as a huge force to be reckoned with...then Titus O'Neil came out. I don't mind Titus and think it would've been better if Rusev just left and they left it or Sunday but Titus absolutely destroyed him making him look a lot weaker than he has been the past few weeks. I'm worried that soon Rusev will look as weak as he did in The League of Nations days if this keeps up.

AJ Styles defeats Xavier Woods

During this match Xavier was starting to look like an actual competitor, and against a guy who's about to go against John Cena, that isn't good. Xavier was looking way too strong. Luckily, AJ hit the Phenomenal Forearm and instead of pinning him yelled "This is what I'm going to do to John Cena" and put Woods in the Cap Crusher making him tap. After the match AJ went on the mic and said "Cena, you should check your clock because your time is up...and my time is now."

Charlotte defeats Natalya

Not clean...don't get too excited. This match was boring and not needed, if anything it made me want to see their already seemingly boring match at Money in the Bank even less.

Seth Rollins vs Roman Reigns Promo

I just wanted to express how cool I thought this little video promo was highlighting some Shield moments as well as some Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns moments. I really hope Seth pulls this one off at Money in the Bank.

Dean Ambrose, Sami Zayn, and Cesaro defeat Kevin Owens, Alberto Del Rio, and Chris Jericho

I feel like I've seen this match or matches with the same people in it at least a thousand times. However it was a decent match, ending in a brawl again which I thought was messy. However Dean Ambrose came out on top of the brawl hopefully foreshadowing a victory...or two at Money in the Bank.

NXT June 15th 2016

NXT

The first episode of NXT since NXT Takeover: The End started with a video package highlighting moments from the previous week at Takeover. One thing it highlighted was when American Alpha was attacked by a tag team who called themselves the Authors of Pain who were accompanied by WWE Hall of Famer Paul Ellering. They were in action tonight.

Authors of Pain Debut Match

Authors of Pain made their debut match against some jobbers that didn't even get named by the commentators. Paul Ellering came out with them to watch the destruction that ensued. The Authors of Pain are being shown as a huge force, destroying their opponents within minutes. Later on an interviewer asked the Authors of Pain what they were doing here, Paul Ellering replied "In due time." I personally am not a fan of these guys and as of right now don't see them wearing any sort of Tag Team Championships.

Carmella defeats Tessa Blanchard

TM61 defeats Blake and Murphy

TM61 picked up the win against Blake and Murphy in their second match in NXT and I believe that was right. I think these guys are very talented and I like their style. I don't think they're quite ready yet but maybe later in the year we could see them challenging for the NXT Tag Team Championships. In the mean time maybe they can go against the Authors of Pain...

Andres Cien Almas defeats Tye Dillinger

Personally I'm not happy that Tye Dillinger lost to Andres two weeks in a row. Andres is a skilled performer but Tye Dillinger is a favorite of mine and super over with the crowd, I wish they'd do more with him.

Finn Balor Promo

Samoa Joe had a promo earlier in the night but it was uneventful and generally just boring. However Finn Balor's promo was amazing, but it was mostly the crowd that made it with the chants of "please don't go" and "you deserve it." It got to a point where Finn asked "What's next for Finn Balor?' The lights went out and Shinsuke Nakamura's music hit. It was a surreal moment I thought as Shinsuke Nakamura challenged "The Icon" of NXT, Finn Balor. I'm really looking forward to this match as I'm a big fan of both of these guys.

Star of the Night

Finn Balor vs Shinsuke Nakamura becomes official, really excited for this match and have high expectations for it.

If only Tye Dillinger won...someday. Anyways that was my recap of what happened on NXT tonight, check back soon for my recap of the final Smackdown before Money in the Bank.
Until next time,

Money In The Bank 2016 Predictions

Money In The Bank Predictions

With Money In The Bank 2016 coming up this Sunday, most if not all the matches on the card have been announced. So here are my predictions for the matches.

Sheamus vs Apollo Crews - Apollo Crews

I think Apollo Crews will beat Sheamus since it's his first real feud on the main roster and I'm sure they want to promote the young talent that Apollo Crews is and start by giving him some credibility with a win over Sheamus.

Dolph Ziggler vs Baron Corbin - Baron Corbin

This feud feels so old and boring to me and feels like it's been going on forever, however I became a bit more interested when Ziggler gave Corbin a low blow out of nowhere on Raw. I liked that fire from Dolph because I liked him so much better when he was a heel so hopefully that foreshadows a heel turn. However I doubt that will happen so I give the win to Baron Corbin and let the younger talent come on top for this feud.

Charlotte and Dana Brooke vs Natalya and Becky Lynch - Natalya and Becky Lynch

My prediction is very simple. I think Natalya and Becky Lynch will win by either pinning or making Dana Brooke submit. After that Charlotte will turn on Dana for losing their match and have a Women's Championship feud between Dana Brooke and Charlotte.

Rusev(c) vs Titus O'Neil for the United States Championship - Rusev

I think Rusev will retain the US Title for a number of reasons. First he's been booked like an absolute beast lately, destroying all his competition and showing no mercy. Secondly, I don't remember the last time I saw Titus O'Neil actually fight in a match. Lastly after Titus' suspension I don't see Vince putting the title on Titus so for those reasons I think Rusev will retain.

The New Day(c) vs The Club vs The Vaudevillains vs Enzo and Cass Fatal Four Way for the Tag Team Championships - The New Day

At first I thought this would be a hard match to predict but now I feel confident in saying The New Day will retain the titles and I don't think they will have a chance at losing them until Summerslam. However if they do lose them on Sunday it will definitely be to Enzo and Cass.

Dean Ambrose vs Sami Zayn vs Cesaro vs Chris Jericho vs Alberto Del Rio vs Kevin Owens Money In The Bank Ladder Match - Dean Ambrose

For me this match was between Dean Ambrose and Kevin Owens but after attacking Roman on Raw and all the talk about him winning, I think Dean Ambrose will win. Plus I would love to see a World Heavyweight Title feud between Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns.

John Cena vs AJ Styles - AJ Styles

I don't think this feud will be over after this match but I have hopes for the match. I think this is an unpredictable one especially it being the first match in their feud so I'm just going with who I personally like more, AJ Styles.

Roman Reigns(c) vs Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship - Seth Rollins

I know it's unlikely Seth will win considering the way they've been booking Roman but maybe they've finally come to their senses and will give the title to Seth. The fans don't want Roman even though he's improved a lot from the start of his title reign. Either way I'm predicting Seth Rollins.

Overall I'm really excited for this pay per view it has some really good matches and I think we could see a lot of surprises.
Until next time,
Devon Wizard
